Gathering around the table, feeding, converted into a social event, the transmutation of a biological need into a human relationship.

This primary need (food) has acquired characteristics of social exchange.

The dining table has a fundamental role and it is met in every form of social interaction, as much in the closed family circle as in the wider forms of social expression (weddings, feasts, etc)

In feasts and celebrations, time becomes ephemeral and uncertain. “Abolition” of time creates an ephemeral “festive” time.

The dining table becomes a social-spatial condition that contains social stereotypes, which are culturally constructed by the repetition of conforming practices.

We are attempting to examine the different perspectives of the table as a symbol, a meeting place and a place of coexistence of different viewpoints and perceptions.

We aim at making the viewer question how ideas, behaviours, beliefs, actions and practices, systematically construct the modern man.
